How we keep the lights on — and why it doesn't affect our reviews.
How Our Reviews Work
MyBestWorkBoots is a free resource. We don't charge readers, and we never will. So how do we pay for the time it takes to research, test, and write all of this?
Affiliate links.
When you click a product link on our site and make a purchase (usually on Amazon), we earn a small commission. It doesn't cost you anything extra — the price is exactly the same whether you use our link or not.
What Are Affiliate Links?
An affiliate link is a special URL that tells the retailer (like Amazon) that you came from our site. If you buy something after clicking that link, we get a small referral fee — typically between 1% and 8% of the sale price, depending on the product category.
We're a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
Does This Affect Our Reviews?
No. Every product recommendation on this site is based on our honest evaluation. We never accept payment to feature a product, and we never adjust a rating or verdict based on commission rates.
If a boot is bad, we say so — even if the affiliate payout is high. If a boot is great but pays zero commission, we'll still recommend it.
Our editorial decisions and our revenue model are separate. Period.
Our Commitment to Honest Reviews
We believe the best way to earn your trust — and keep earning affiliate commissions — is to be right. If we recommend garbage, you stop trusting us, and our business fails.
That's why we:
- Test and compare products using the same criteria every time
- Declare a winner in every comparison — no cop-outs
- Tell you who should buy it AND who should skip it
- Update articles when products change, prices shift, or new options arrive
- Disclose affiliate relationships on every page that contains product links
If you ever think a review is unfair or inaccurate, contact us. We take corrections seriously.
