We Test Work Boots — So You Don't Have To

7+ years. Dozens of boots. One goal: help you find the right pair for your job — without the guesswork.

Our mission

Why MyBestWorkBoots Exists

If you've ever searched for work boots online, you know the problem. Every site gives you a list of 20 boots, each one "highly recommended," and none of them tell you which one is actually right for your job.

We started MyBestWorkBoots because we were tired of that. Tired of vague reviews, recycled spec sheets, and "best of" lists that are really just Amazon bestseller tables with a different logo on top.

So we took a different approach. We test boots. We compare them side by side. And we tell you — straight up — which one wins and why. If a boot isn't worth your money, we'll say so. If it is, we'll tell you exactly who it's for.

No sponsors. No paid placements. Just honest opinions backed by real experience.

Confirm origin story with client. The above is aspirational and brand-aligned. If the founder has a personal "why" — e.g. bad experience buying boots for a specific trade — weave that in for authenticity.
Our process

How We Test Every Boot

Every boot we recommend goes through the same evaluation. Here's what we check — and why it matters.

Confirm testing methodology with client. If reviews are based on aggregated research rather than physical testing, revise the copy below accordingly.
  1. Comfort Testing

Comfort isn't subjective — it's measurable. We evaluate cushioning, arch support, weight, and break-in period. If a boot hurts after 4 hours, it doesn't matter how tough it is.

  2. Durability Assessment

We look at stitching quality, sole construction, upper materials, and waterproofing. A boot that falls apart in 6 months isn't a deal — it's a waste of money.

  3. Safety Standards

We check ASTM F2413 compliance, electrical hazard ratings, slip resistance, and toe protection type. Then we explain what each rating actually means for your daily work.

  4. Value Analysis

We compare price against performance within the same category. The most expensive boot isn't always the best — and the cheapest one isn't always a bad bet. We look at cost per month of use, not just sticker price.

Meet the Reviewer

James Blake — Lead Boots Contributor

James has been reviewing work boots since 2018. What started as a side project — helping friends pick the right pair for their trade — turned into a full-time gig covering the biggest brands in the industry.

He's tested boots from Timberland, Caterpillar, Wolverine, Red Wing, Keen, and dozens of others. His approach is simple: put them on, put them to work, and give it to you straight.

When he's not comparing boots, he's probably wearing them.
